The following message is a courtesy copy of an article that has been posted to han.comp.os.freebsd as well. ftp6의 CD이미지로 작업하다가 bin배포본에 문제가 있다는 사실을 알게 되었는데, 정리해 보죠. 이 문제는 5월 3,4일의 리눅스 엑스포때에 배포되는 CD에도 동일하게 적용됩니다(대신 CD안에 안내 문구가 나갈 것입니다). 알려진 증상은 다음과 같습니다. 1. 매뉴얼 출력이 다음과 같은 증상을 보이며 나오지 않습니다: % man ls Formatting page, please wait.../usr/bin/groff: can't find `DESC' file /usr/bin/groff:fatal error: invalid device `ascii' Done. 2. /usr/share/examples등이 디렉토리만 있고 내용이 비었습니다. 3. /usr/sbin/sendmail 등이 없습니다. 이는 3.1CD의 bin배포본을 설치하는 과정에서 몇몇 파일을 설치하지 못하고 지나가기 때문입니다. 그러나 교묘하게도 시스템 부팅하는데 필요한 파일은 모두 잘 설치되기 때문에 이상하기는 한데 문제점을 잡아내기가 매우 어려웠죠. 하여튼 문제점을 해결하기 위해서는 다음 파일을 받아서 설치하세요 ftp://ftp.kr.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD-kr/misc/31cdpatch.tgz 이 파일을 받아다가 루트 권한으로 다음과 같이 설치합니다. cd / tar xzvpf <some-dir>/31cdpatch.tgz 그럼 문제는 모두 해결됩니다. 단 하나, man을 섣불리 했다가 1)의 메시지를 본 사람은 패치 후에도 매뉴얼이 나오지 않을 겁니다. 그럴 때에는 루트 권한으로 catman $MANPATH 를 해 주세요. 무슨 메시지가 나오는데 그냥 무시하고 기다리면 됩니다. -- ** Any opinions in this posting are my own and not those of my employers ** CHOI, Junho <mailto:cjh@kr.freebsd.org> - Korea FreeBSD Users Group <http://www.kr.freebsd.org/~cjh> - Web Data Bank Co.
