Kernel Panic

PC에 FreeBSD2.2.8-Release를 설치하고 있습니다.
두 대의 PC에 설치를 하고 있는데, 한 대는 성공적으로 설치가
되었습니다.
그런데, 다른 한 대의 PC에서 kernel panic이 나네요. :(

    "panic : cannot mount root"

삼성 6G H/D를 사용하고 있는데, 이중에서 2G를 FreeBSD에 할당했고
swap 64M를 제외하고 모두 /(root)로 file system을 할당했습니다.
FTP로 FreeBSD를 설치했는데, 말끔하게 down을 모두 받아서 설치했구요.
Hard space가 여유가 있어서 대부분의 package들을 down받았습니다.
FreeBSD의 막강함을 느껴보고 싶어서... :)
따라서, System에 꼭 필요한 것들을 down받을때 누락시켰다고는
생각되지 않습니다.
고수님들의 조언을 부탁드립니다.
