커다란 단일 파일을 읽으면 2배에 근접하는 속도가 납니다.
seek가 빨라지는 것은 아니므로 작은 파일을 빈번히 억세스하는 경우라면 그렇게
훌륭한 결과는 안 나오겠지요. (그래도 어느정도는 빨라집니다.)

그런데 ide 따위에 striping을 하면 master에만 하드를 달 수도 없고(자리가
부족하니까), 그렇다고 master/slave사이에 striping을 할 수도 없는 아주
곤란한 문제에 직면하게 되지 않나요.
